LE PALACE
The Palace was, from 1978 to 1983, the fashionable Paris hotspot where the links between fashion, music, “Parisian chic” and underground culture crystallised. All the Palace “regulars” remember it as a legendary place. And there are many former club-goers who knew its golden age from the late 1970s to the mid-1980s: Kenzo, Karl Lagerfeld, Thierry Ardisson, Loulou de la Falaise, Grace Jones, Roland Barthes, Mick Jagger, Andy Warhol, Frédéric Mitterrand, Andrée Putman, Jean-Paul Goude, Yves Saint Laurent, Pierre Bergé, Thierry Le Luron, the artists Pierre et Gilles — and the list goes on. But the Palace, before becoming the reference of Parisian nightlife – rivalling New York’s famous Studio 54! – has a long history.
The trendy Paris of the 70s and 80s still quivers at the mention of its name: the unattainable Palace ! The symbol of a carefree, festive era finally reopened its doors on 20 October 2016, after colossal renovation works during which every little detail was brought up to date. The Palace now boasts a chic, streamlined design combined with the most modern facilities. Chic Paris is reborn at last! A legend comes back to life.
